Predesign/Scoping
for an Integrated Systems-Based Development
for Research at UMore Park:

The Center for Rural Design and the Center for Sustainable Building Research will prepare a predesign/scoping effort, along with interested University faculty and selected development consultants, and work with the UMore Park Management Team to determine the feasibility of the University designing, building, evaluating, marketing and using an integrated systems-based development for research at UMore Park in the Research Village Precinct.  The development is envisioned as being a hydrogen-based, energy self-sufficient community containing residential, retail, office, and research laboratories of various types connected to a centralized power plant with energy resources from solar, wind power, and biomass.  The planning would build upon other of the University's Initiative for Renewable Energy and the Environment (IREE) supported energy research, and represent a major University opportunity for UMore Park.
