Bill Carlson, Project Director of Isanti County Active Living, wrote a letter (PDF, 82 kB) on 12/31/2008 in regards to CRD's involvement with the Isanti County Parks & Recreation Plan and the Isanti County Parks and Bike Path Master Plan.

This project was a combined effort of the Isanti County Active Living by Design (ALbD) and the Parks and Recreation Board of Isanti County. The goal this project is to produce two products while combining the planning and public participation process.

The individual projects include the ALbD's Master Plan Vision for Active Living within Isanti County and the Parks and Recreation Board of Isanti County's update to the Recreation/Open Space System Plan.

The intent of the joint project is engage, educate and excite the community of Isanti County about the vast opportunities for active living, recreation and open space while simultaneously empower the ALbD and the Isanti County Parks and Recreation Board to make well informed land use decisions today that shape the way the community lives, works and plays in the County tomorrow.

The ALbD's Master Plan Vision for Active Living within Isanti County is an addendum to Isanti County Parks and Recreation Plan. The Master Plan focuses on highlighting and prioritizing on road bike paths that connect the County's Parks System.

The Isanti County Parks and Recreation Plan is an update to an existing plan and includes an expanded section on the documentation of the Parks within the County.
